    Grand Mosque

    The Grand Mosque is the largest and the official mosque in the country of Kuwait. Its area spans 45,000 square meters out of which the building itself covers 20,000 square meters. The main prayer hall is 72 meters wide on all sides, and has teakwood doors. Natural lighting is provided by 144 windows. Private tours are available with a guide in English or Arabic.

    Kuwait Towers

    The Kuwait Towers are a group of three slender towers in Kuwait City located on the Arabian Gulf. They were the sixth, and last, group in the larger Kuwait Water Towers system comprising of 34 towers (33 store water; one stores equipment), and were built in a style considerably different from the other five groups. The Kuwait Towers were officially inaugurated in March 1979 and are regarded as a landmark and symbol of modern Kuwait and houses restaurants and allows visitors to enjoy a great panoramic view of the country.

    Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre

    The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, informally known as the Kuwait Opera House, is a prominent cultural center in Kuwait, located on the Gulf Road in the capital Kuwait City. It is the largest cultural center and opera house in the Middle East, providing a multidisciplinary public space hosting a range of events in music, theatre, film, workshops and spoken word for every generation and sector of society. The center has been awarded for its unique architecture that combines traits in Kuwait's traditional architecture and a contemporary vision. The center is also home to a musical fountain and outdoor restaurants overlooking it.

    Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway

    The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway is a mega bridge project that spans the Bay of Kuwait in two directions and comprises two projects: Main Link, which connects Kuwait City with the future Silk City; and Doha Link, which connects Kuwait City with Doha and the Kuwait Entertainment City (under construction). The project forms part of the Kuwait National Development Plan 2035. The bridges are named after the late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to commemorate his contribution to the development of Kuwait. It is one of the largest and most challenging transport infrastructure projects in Kuwait, as well as the entire Middle East region. The Main Link is the 4th longest road bridge in the world at 36.14 km. Both bridges have a combined length of 48.5 kilometers.

    Souq Al Mubarakiya

     Souq Al Mubarakiya is one of the oldest souqs in Kuwait, and was the center of trade prior to the discovery of oil. Preserving the old names of small shops, the souq today is a unique shopping experience, taking visitors from the produce lane, to fresh meats and fish, a variety of dates, shopping for gold, clothes or traditional items, as well as a one in a million rich culinary experience.

    The Old Gates of Kuwait

    At the beginning of the 20th century, in 1920 particularly, residents of Kuwait, which is modern-time Kuwait City, protected themselves from foreign attacks with a wall surrounding them. A century later, five gates remain to remind us of these times.  The wall was demolished in 1957, and the remaining gates have been refurbished, complete with windows, stairs and hatches, which would have been guarded to prevent intruders. These gates are today know as Bneid Al Gar, Shamiya, Al Maqsab, Al Shaab and Jahra.

    Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village

    Located 100 kilometers from the city in Salmi, Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village operates during the winter season as it mostly hosts outdoor activities.     Failaka Island

    Once an outpost of Alexander the Great’s army, Failaka has Mesopotamian-era ruins, including the remains of a citadel. It lies about 20 km off the Kuwaiti mainland. It is known for its 1950s traditional houses in the Heritage Village and the Museum Palace of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah. Camels and Arabian horses are kept at Failaka Stables and restaurants, jet skis and more are popular at Wanasa Beach. Failaka is accessible by cruises leaving from the shorts of the mainland. Today’s, Kuwait has embarked on an ambitious journey to develop the Island to become touristic destination in the region, attracting visitors and businesses from around the world as part of the New Kuwait vision for 2035.

    Bubyan Island

    Bubyan Island is the largest island in the Kuwaiti coastal island chain situated in the north-western corner of the Gulf sea. The island covers an area of 863 square kilometer and is uninhabited, except for its rich wildlife. The waters of the islands are fed from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers that pour into the Gulf sea, making it home to a wetland wilderness rich in wildlife and one of the most amazing natural treasures in the country. What distinguishes the island is its birdlife this is an internationally important area for breeding populations of birds. The island remains inhabited and visited very rarely because of its position at the crossroads of boarders.

    Warbah Island

    Just like Bubyan Island, Warbah has an amazing wildlife as its waters are also fed by the same rivers. The island is roughly 15 kilometres long and 5 kilometres wide with a total area of 37 square kilometres. The island is essentially a large mud flat and is inhabited. It’s wildlife was first discovered some 100 years ago, however it remains to be further explored as the migration of birds and breeding population are very important in this area.

    Kubbar Island

    Kubbar stands out among the islands of Kuwait. It is a small sandy island located in close proximity to the Fahaleel area, 29 kilometres off the coast of Failaka and 30 kilometers off the southern coast of Kuwait. Kubbar is a serene getaway for sea lovers and boats gather by the hundreds around it to enjoy the picturesque colors of the sparkling blue waters and grainy crystal sands. The island provides boating, sailing, swimming and water sports.

    Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre

    Established to be one of the world’s largest cultural projects, Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre comprises Natural History Museum, Science and Technology Museum, Arabic Islamic Science Museum, Space Museum, Fine Arts Centre, and Theatre. The Centre was named after one of the most inspiring leaders in Kuwait’s modern history, the late Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem. The Centre is home to a total of 22 world-class galleries, with over 3000 exhibits, exploring the facets of our world. Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre has come to life through a fruitful international collaboration across 13 countries, among which are nearly 96 specialist organisations.

    Al Shaheed Park Museum

    Known as Thekra, Al Shaheed Park’s Historical Museum focuses on the history of Kuwait, its major battles and the Gulf War. Other facilities within the museum include the museum’s book shop, a cafeteria overlooking the memorial garden and pools, as well as a research room for the collection of historical data. There are two men and female prayer rooms within the museum office building.

    Bait Al Othman Museum

    Bait Al-Othman is a historic museum in Kuwait located in Hawalli. Inaugurated by the Amir of Kuwait in April 2013, the museum is dedicated to the history and culture of Kuwait from the pre-oil era to present time. The museum hosts numerous historical items and antiques of pre-oil Kuwait. Housh (courtyard), diwaniyas, muqallatt, kitchen, living room, master's bedroom and visitors’ room can all be seen. There are mini museums within the museum such as the Kuwait Drama Museum, Kuwait House Museum, Heritage Hall, Kuwaiti Souq, and Journey of Life Museum.

    Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah

    Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah is a cultural organization operating several cultural centers in Kuwait. The organization has a collection of more than 20,000 items of rare Islamic art belonging to Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah and his wife Sheikha Hussa Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, who personally oversees the Kuwait National Museum. Many items, especially those from the pre-Islamic period, are housed at Amricani Cultural Centre in Kuwait. The collection includes "books, manuscripts, ceramics, glass, metal, precious stones and jeweled objects, architectural ornaments, textiles and carpets, coins and scientific instruments. Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah also hosts many cultural events throughout the year.

    Dickson House Museum

    Dickson House was home to the British colonial administrator in the Middle East from the 1920s until the 1940s, and author of several books on Kuwait, Lieutenant Colonel Harold Richard Patrick Dickson. The Dicksons moved into the house in 1929, and the building served as the British political agency until 1935. Dickson remained in Kuwait and lived there until his death in 1959 and Dame Violet until the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, when she was evacuated to Britain. Dame Violet died before the liberation of Kuwait. The house was ransacked during the invasion, but has since been restored by the Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, and is now a tourist attraction. It is one of few surviving examples of nineteenth century Kuwaiti architecture, with thirty rooms on two floors.

    Bait Al Arab

    Bait Al Arab, or the Arabian Horse Center, is a great destination to discover the unique Arabian Horse which is part of the Arab world’s history and tradition. In Kuwait in particular, it is considered the Arabs’ duty and responsibility to preserve the breed and to further its importance worldwide. During the last 30-40 years, the Arabian Horse Center has taken a key interest in breeding purebred Arabian horses and in particular concentrating on so called Straight Egyptian bloodlines as a nucleus to preserve their heritage in Kuwait. Bait Al Arab holds events and activities throughout the year.

    KUWAIT ZOO

    Established in 1968, Kuwait Zoo is located in the Omariya area and is home to a variety of animals. The zoo was renovated after the Gulf War as it suffered damages. The zoo is around 180,000 square meters and is divided into four major sections: Animals Section, Cultural Center and Life Sciences, Services and Maintenance and the veterinary clinic.

    AL SHAHEED PARK

    Al Shaheed Park aims to promote environmental awareness and its protection. By visiting the Habitat - a museum dedicated to the environment and bird migration in Kuwait, the visitors learn more about the different ecosystems, migratory birds and the effects of pollution through interactive learning stations. In addition to the museum, a Bird Aviary was built outside of the Habitat to provide a resting area for the numerous migrating birds in Kuwait. By doing so, visitors also get a chance to view these different kinds of birds as they stop by to rest during their journey.

    Al-Abdaliya Nature Reserves

    This reserve is an ambitious environmental project located in West Kuwait within the operational areas of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The project seeks to correct environmental damages and restore life and biodiversity to the desert. Implemented on an area of about 3 million square meters in two phases beginning in January 2011. Al-Abdaliya aimed to create better conditions for wildlife, plants and animals through the creation of lakes with surrounding hills for desert plants such as Al-Arfaj, Al-Arti, Al-Ramth, Al-Qarsi and others which grow in Kuwait.
