The general structure, minaret, pillars, ceilings, and foundations are made of reinforced concrete and adorned by natural stone of various shades as well as high-quality marble in the interior. The doors are hand carved. The dome is one of the largest domes in the world and is decorated with the Asma al-Husna, the 99 names of God.

Guests are required to leave their shoes at the door before entering the mosque. This is part of the washing ritual performed by Muslims before prayer. Muslims must be clean before they present themselves before God. Muslims start in the name of God, and begin by washing the right, and then the left hand three times. The mouth is then cleaned three times.
