Sustainable Development Goals Vision

                                                                                                                                                                                KHOA

         Project Highlights

         1. UNDP has supported KPPC in successfully initiating the establishment of their Behavioral Insights Unit (or ‘nudge unit’), known as the Kuwait

Policy Appraisal Lab (KPAL) in order to apply the latest findings in behavioral science and economics into public policy especially for
implementation of the Kuwait National Development Plan (KNDP)

         2. UNDP has provided support for the design of a customized 5-year macroeconomic model that can provide rigorous, consistent structure for

forecasting and for testing economic scenarios.

         3. The project has also supported organizing monthly lecture series in the newly established KPPC where renowned local, regional, and
international speakers were invited to lecture on topics related to each of the KNDP pillars, creating a knowledge sharing platform for policy

              dialogue

         4. KPPC worked closely with the Amiri Diwan and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) to help create a community of
              practice for ‘nudging’ in Kuwait

         5. A partnership between KFAS and LSE Health resulted in the conducting of a comprehensive Health System Review report and finalization of 4
project reports on Health and Economics,

         6. The project supported the launch of the UNDP Global Report Atlas on: “Mapping the oil and gas industry to the Sustainable Development Goals:
              An Atlas”

         7. The project also successfully established regional strategic partnerships with the American University of Beirut (AUB), with a Memorandum of

Understanding (MoU) established with the university’s Isam Faris Institute.
                                                                                                                                                                                31
