It published its first issue on February 22, 1972. The Editor-in-Chief was Jassim Ahmad Al-Nisf until 1983. He was followed by Mohammad Jassim Al-Sager from February 1983 to July 1999, and then Walid Abdel Latif Al-Nusf to date.
